Postdoc Position Scholarships for Cheerleaders in Molecular Microbiology


The Scholarships for Cheerleaders successful candidate will conduct research on the fate and effects of veterinary medicines and human being entrained into the farm through the application of animal or human waste. Relevant focus areas may include 1. Characterize the impact of antimicrobial agents in soil and plant communities of microbes including functional endpoints and community structure, abundance and characteristics of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. 2. Feature pathways and mechanisms of biodegradation of selected antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals in environmental matrices.

Scholarships for Cheerleaders Candidates should have a strong record of research in microbiology, biochemistry or chemical contaminants that are relevant to the fate and impact of research. Experience in molecular microbiology methods is highly desirable.

Scholarships for Cheerleaders Starting date for the position is July 1, 2011 or soon thereafter. The successful candidate will be supported by the NSERC Visiting Fellowships in Government Laboratories program [http://www.nserc.ca]. Fellowships are awarded annually, renewable for up to 3 years. Deadline for applications is May 21st 2011 or until the position is filled.
